Vorwerk, the German brand behind the Kobold VK200 Ultimate Homecare System, has announced that the multi-functional vacuum cleaner has achieved full accreditation from the Good Housekeeping Institute.

The modular system is designed to carry out a range of time-saving cleaning tasks using a variety of interchangeable cleaning heads.

The Kobold VK200 was assessed for its ability to pick up dust on carpet, floorboards and laminate flooring and was evaluated for ease of use and design.

Testing was carried out using the system’s standard cleaning head, the EB400 Automatic Electric Brush, as well as with the optional PB440 Electric Upholstery Brush, VF200 Carpet Freshener and SP530 Duo Clean head that is designed to mop and vacuum hard floors at the same time.

“The VK200 is the ultimate cleaning system. Not only does it vacuum and clean carpets and hard floors efficiently, but can also be used to refresh your mattress and upholstery and to spruce up the interior of your car”, said a Good Housekeeping Institute Expert.

Results from the Good Housekeeping Institute were as follows:

  • Maximum marks for dust pick up and pet hair removal on carpet, floor boards and laminate using the EB400 Automatic Electric Brush

 

  • The SP530 Duo Clean vacuumed and wiped the floor well. The cloth was easy to fit onto the plate and effective in cleaning vinyl flooring

 

  • The VF200 Carpet Freshener was easy to use and cleaned and freshened the carpet effectively

 

  • Easy to manoeuvre around and under furniture – vacuum sits flat on the floor

 

  • Satisfactory results for edge cleaning

 

  • Extremely sturdy and well-constructed – all vacuum accessories fit together well

 

  • Good long flex

 

  • Large number of accessories which can be mixed and matched

 

  • Good results achieved with the PB400 Electric Upholstery Brush, it was easy to fit and use

 

  • Overall a high scoring product.
